PATRICIA SINGER

Patricia Singer’s artistic foundation began when completing her post graduate degree in Communication Arts at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. She focused her studies on photography, also taking creative courses in writing, design and art. She began studying numerous healing art modalities, leading her in a new direction.

In May of 2014, she experienced a seizure and discovered she had a brain tumor that required immediate attention. This propelled her onto a process that involved confronting hidden aspects of herself. Dealing with the reality of the tumor had her spinning as she took a giant leap into that mysterious abyss into a revealing and transforming journey. After the brain surgery, she couldn't drive or work for three months. She used this time to rediscover her love of design

Collage became her tool and vehicle for expressing what she was experiencing and allowed insight and healing to occur. She created a style and process, which she named “Collage Alchemy”. The study of each healing modality led to the next, and eventually they merged in a way that is distinct and unique, affording her the opportunity to connect with clients on many levels, having the skill and tools to assist in their healing. Her collage process: She would tear out pages from various magazines. The cutout images, like puzzle pieces, came together into a magical larger whole, allowing her to access parts of her unconscious becoming conscious. The raw images woven together created an image that reflected her spiritual journey. The final image reflected a far greater story and represented more than she could have conceived at the beginning of the collage process.
