JENNIFER WILLIAMS

Jennifer Williams

Jennifer Williams is an award-winning Australian born contemporary impressionist who resides in Westport, Connecticut USA.  With a background in fine art and movement therapy Jennifer paints the world as she experiences it, vibrant landscapes filled with harmonious color, light and movement.  Captivated by the allure of nature and travel, Jennifer has painted all over the world where her work is collected and exhibited in Europe, Asia, Australia and the United states.

Typically painting on luminous metal substrates, Jennifer creates contemporary, ethereal impressions of the places she loves and visits.  She has a way of mixing reality with a sense of fantasy. “The viewer is offered an intimate perspective, often being placed amongst wildflowers or alone in the shadows of majestic city streets where buildings become reflections and places of curiosity for one to imagine and find serenity”.

Williams has a BA in Business and has studied Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design in New York and at Rowayton Arts Center and Silvermine School of Art in Connecticut.  She is the great niece of Moya Dyring a notable Australian artist who is exhibited in the Australian National Gallery.

Artist Statement

“I love to paint nature’s rhythms, patterns and revelations and find strong connections between ecosystems and the body systems.  Working on a metal substrate gives me the opportunity to express strong gestural line, adding and extracting shapes and patterns with transparent oil color glazes to create luminous, organic compositions.”
