American sculptor David Hayes spent six decades working in Paris and Coventry, Connecticut. In his lifetime, he knew and learned from David Smith, Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Alberto Giacometti, Sol LeWitt,
plus others. He spent the decade of the 1960s studying in Paris on a Fulbright where he also designed jewelry for Pierre Cardin.
He has had some 500 exhibitions and is included in over 100 institutional collections including those of the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
