ERNEST GARTHWAITE

In his prophetic landscapes, 65-year painter, sculptor, and filmmaker, Ernest Garthwaite produces a visual, emotional, and intellectual connection for the viewer.  His landscapes quicken the eye, convey the opulence of nature, and develop a spiritual overtone beneath and beyond the surface.

Ernest Garthwaite, born in Saskatchewan, Canada, has

lived with his family in Old Greenwich Connecticut, since 1992. Garthwaite studied with Ivan Mestrovic at the University of Notre Dame where he completed a Masters

in Painting and Sculpture.

Garthwaite, a Professor Emeritus at York College, City University of New York, has had over 50 one-person exhibits, numerous group shows, and his work is in many public and private collections throughout the world.
