PETRA BARGUSS-COMERFORD

Petra Barguss-Comerford

Petra Barguss-Comerford is British Contemporary Artist, based in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Petra studied at Chelsea Art College and UWE in UK where she specialized in fashion-textiles, surface pattern and fashion illustration.

Years of anatomical life drawing study led Petra to imagine these watery female figures, suspended in motion, ethereal and dreamlike, created in ink on paper. In working with these ethereal floating female forms, Petra developed the premise further creating empowered female forms in warrior poses inspired by depictions in Aboriginal cave paintings seen in Uluru, a sacred and spiritual Aboriginal site in Australia during her travels.
